Final Greek Exams: Physically... Physics!

This year’s Physics exam seemed to reward rigid discipline and mechanical application of methods, rather than a deep understanding of the subject. Question C stood out as excessively technical, more in line with repeat-exam logic than with standard national exams. It wasn’t about identifying students who understood — it favored those trained in solving by rote, through repeated exposure to similar exercises.

Question D was more balanced, with a clearer structure and a reasonable progression in difficulty. There was at least an attempt to connect ideas. Still, with most students already mentally drained from the previous section, very few could engage with it meaningfully. Sections A and B followed predictable patterns, acting more like a warm-up than a challenge — no surprises there.

Verdict:

This year’s Physics paper didn’t test deep conceptual thinking — it tested endurance, rehearsal, and familiarity with standard formats. It seemed tailored for those trained to solve like clockwork, rather than for those striving to genuinely grasp the phenomena behind the formulas. The overall tone leaned more toward competition than education.
